Does this guarantee safe spreadsheet imports?
No. Import behavior differs between applications and workflows. Inspect the resulting cells in the application you use, especially if files are later saved and reopened as CSV.

No. The file is read and processed by JavaScript in your browser. No account is needed.
What are the limits?
This intentionally changes field text, including negative numeric values. It is one preparation step; test the actual import path before relying on it. Text input is limited to 25 MB and tables to 200,000 cells.
